Selection Process

  • Invitation Distribution: TBC will send out an initial round of invitations to eligible programs to complete an application of interest. An invitation to The Basketball Cup does not guarantee participation. It serves as an opportunity to apply for consideration.

  • Response Timeline: Each invitation will include a specified timeline for responding.

  • Selection of Participants: After the response window closes, TBC staff will review the responses and select participant programs from those that expressed interest. A selection, however, indicates that TBC staff has officially chosen your program to participate in the tournament.

  • Admittance Notification: Selected teams will receive an official admittance email sent directly to the head coach.

  • Agreement & Fee Submission: Coaches and programs will have 48 hours to complete the Participation Agreement and submit the Team Entry Fee after receiving the admittance email.

  • Housing Coordination: Once the Participation Agreement and Team Entry Fee are submitted, TBC staff will connect the program’s coach with TBC’s housing partner to arrange accommodations within TBC’s reserved room blocks.

  • Completion of Team Entry: After finalizing hotel reservations within TBC’s room blocks, the Team Entry process will be complete.
